The SCE is a relatively new and growing department with the bank of c. 80 fte. To bring together all aspects of the sustainability story for external disclosures, we are looking for a driven professional in the Regulatory & Stakeholder Management team with excellent English writing skills. Your primary job will be to write and edit the sustainability statements for the Integrated Annual Report, working with experienced members of the team.

Your job

In a fast-evolving sustainability regulation landscape, this job provides the opportunity to quickly become an expert in this field, while learning about many aspects in sustainability, regulation, and stakeholder management.

  • You will work closely together with many different stakeholders from other departments within the bank to write the sustainability statements for the Integrated Annual Report.
  • You support the RSM team with other sustainability related projects such as ESG Rating Agency analyses and other disclosures.

In a fast changing environment, the role will evolve, also taking into account your interests and capabilities. 

Working environment

The mandate of the SCE is to set the direction for the sustainability transition of ABN AMRO with its clients, facilitate further integration of sustainability within the bank provide and to develop and provide sustainability expertise. Expectations from our stakeholders on sustainability are changing fast and as a growing team working at SCE requires an open-minded change and can-do attitude.

SCE is managed by the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and consists of the following teams: Regulation & Stakeholder Management (RSM), Climate (including climate strategy and innovation), Social Impact, Circularity & Biodiversity, Business Insights and the Environmental, Social and Governance data domain. 

RSM, a team of currently 7 professionals, is focused on bringing external and forward-looking sustainability perspectives and developments into ABN AMRO. Areas of expertise include impact, sustainable finance regulations and reporting, long term value creation, ESG rating agencies and the relations and developments with primary external stakeholders like NGO’s.

Your profile

  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Master degree or similar level.
  • A passion for writing, excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication abilities in English.
  • Proactive curiosity: willingness to learn and eager to grasp and analyse a broad number of sustainability topics.
  • Collaborative skills: you are flexible and able to work closely together with many stakeholders within the bank.
  • Teamplayer and result-oriented: you like to get things done.

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
  • An excellent pension scheme.
