EY's international tax advisory team seeks a Senior Consultant for the Financial Transactions Transfer Pricing team in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. The role involves advising multinational companies on financial transactions, transfer pricing models, and regulatory updates.

The Challenge - What Future Are You Building Towards?

The international tax advisory practice of EY advises multinational companies, private equity funds, and other investors who invest in the Netherlands and from the Netherlands to the rest of the world. We assist these internationally operating companies in various tax areas, including investments, acquisitions, divestitures, sales processes, business transformations, and internal and external financings.

In recent years, (inter)national regulations have been constantly evolving, especially in the area of transfer pricing. The number of transactions between related parties of a multinational has significantly increased and became more complex. As a result, tax authorities are increasingly focusing on transfer pricing models and transfer pricing policies adopted by multinationals. This is where you can make an impact!

What You Will Do: How Can You Make a Lasting Impact in a Rapidly Changing World?

We are looking for a Senior Consultant for our Financial Transactions Transfer Pricing team in Rotterdam (and Amsterdam as well). This opportunity is suitable for recent graduates and students that are about to graduate soon.

If topics like LIBOR transition, debt capacity analysis, interest rate benchmarking, financial guarantees, cash pooling arrangements, and hedging strategies sound interesting to you, then this opportunity may be a good match for your career goals and a chance to develop your expertise in these areas.

As a Senior Consultant, you will advise and assist clients in designing, implementing, and documenting their financial transactions transfer pricing models. Furthermore, you will:

  • Perform quantitative and/or qualitative analyses with respect to various financial transactions using state-of-the-art tools and databases;
  • Design financial transactions transfer pricing policies, including performing transfer pricing analyses and preparing transfer pricing documentation;
  • Conduct factual investigations (such as conducting functional interviews with key employees to gain a good understanding of the organization);
  • Advise on the restructuring of financial transactions within business units (including their valuations);
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in financial transactions transfer pricing by actively participating in knowledge meetings, workshops, and other learning opportunities within the team.

Of course, you won't do this alone. You will join the largest transfer pricing team in the Netherlands, with more than 70 employees at 3 different locations in the Netherlands and desks in the US and Asia. Our diverse team consists of professionals from various backgrounds and approximately 15 different countries. In 2021, 2022, and 2023 our Transfer Pricing team was named the best team in the Netherlands by International Tax Review!

What We are Looking For: Where Do You Start If You Want to Change the World?

  • A completed Master's degree, preferably in tax law, (fiscal) economics, finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in Transfer Pricing of Financial Transactions.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to efficiently perform data analysis and create financial models.
  • You can express yourself well both orally and in writing in English. Dutch language is a plus, but it is not mandatory!

You don't wait, but see the work that needs to be done and take action right away. At the same time, you involve others constructively and clearly convey what needs to be done and who is responsible for what. At the end of the day, you make sure the work gets done!

"We want you to bring your authentic self. Everyone does things differently; doing things well can be described in different ways. And here at EY, we appreciate that uniqueness."

If you recognize yourself in the above, great! Respond quickly. If not entirely, we still encourage you to contact us. We are more than happy to discuss the possibilities within our team over a cup of coffee. We are looking for exceptional and diverse people!

What We Offer: Is Everything That Counts Being Counted?

  • A culture that provides you with training, opportunities, and creative freedom to continuously improve yourself and EY.
  • An annual bonus on top of the base salary.
  • 29 vacation days. Phone and laptop.
  • Flexible mobility arrangement.
  • 9 weeks of paid parental leave at 70% of your gross salary.
  • Internal training within EY (EY Tax Academy) during the first 3 years of your career, in addition to the education provided by the Foundation for Tax Advisers Training (Stichting Opleiding Belastingadviseurs) of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).
  • A young, social, and close-knit team with an open and informal culture at its core.
  • Monthly team events.
  • Hybrid working: EY provides your home office, including an internet allowance.
  • Steep learning curve to further develop your technical and commercial skills.
  • Challenging (international) projects that allow you to build a strong network, both within and outside of EY.
  • Opportunity to live and work abroad at one of the Dutch desks in other countries early in your career.
  • Define your own career development: focus on a sector, area, topic, or the latest developments.

What Else Can You Expect at EY?

You will have good career opportunities thanks to individual support and attention. At EY, every individual's vision and opinion make a unique contribution. And that includes you too! Our culture is open and informal, and we highly value diversity.

Application Process: How Can You Prepare for a Long Life Together?

  • First interview with the recruitment team of the department.
  • Second interview with your potential colleague.
  • Online personality test.
  • Pre-employment screening.*

*As part of the application process, there will be an (online) assessment and a pre-employment screening. Due to legal and regulatory requirements and because EY (and in some cases its clients) places high demands on the reliability and integrity of its employees, every new employee undergoes screening. Depending on the position level, the pre-employment screening may include: Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) or - if a VOG cannot be obtained in the Netherlands - a Criminal Background Check from the country where you currently reside or have resided in the past five years, integrity questionnaire, verification of ID, diplomas and/or work experience, and consultation of the central insolvency register.
